Project Description
Looking to the future, the NFI is exploring how advanced language models like ChatGPT can support detectives and digital experts in using Hansken. This project covers multiple aspects, including assessing the suitability of open-source language models as an alternative to ChatGPT 4, developing effective prompts for various tasks, and representing search results in a knowledge graph (e.g., using Neo4j). Additional investigation will explore how supplementary investigation information, such as charges and statements from suspects and witnesses, can be integrated into this knowledge graph so that language models can utilize it to assist with answering research questions. A key focus is preventing hallucinations or incorrect generations by the language model.

This project is at the forefront of exploring how cutting-edge AI and language models can contribute to forensic investigation. It investigates how these technologies can assist in analyzing complex data, providing insights, and speeding up investigative processes.
